People do some strange things to their houses. A colleague of mine in the building trade once commented many years ago “People sometimes go to a lot of trouble to do things wrong”.

Other times people don’t do things to their houses. I knew a person who built his house of the best materials, cutting no corners during the construction. He actually believed that he would not have to do anything to his house again. It took only about 10 years for major problems to develop.

This is a collection of some of the things that I have seen over the years. Some are amusing, others are frightening and dangerous, all can serve as a lesson.
